Self Help Group Formation & Capacity Development This is innovative model introduced by VOICE GHANA into the disability fraternity in Ghana since 2006 to support and empower people with disabilities and parents with intellectual disabilities at the grassroot level to form Self Help Groups. It is a community development model; purely result oriented and is quite different from other Self Help Groups, as it is made up of persons with all categories of disabilities or in some cases, parents of children with intellectual disabilities who support each other to take collective actions voluntarily. VOICE Ghana currently has 62 disability and parents’ Self Help Groups across the Volta Region. For names and locations of the Self-help Groups, click HERE!
